Daniel checked in for the Island Spirit out of Ventura Harbor Sportfishing. We got out pretty light with 22 passengers and had really, really good fishing today. Our 22 guys caught 220 rockfish (limits), 168 whitefish, 11 lingcod, up to 20 pounds, 2 sheephead, and 13 sculpin. We had really good bottom fishing with phenomenal quality on everything. We are chartered tomorrow. We have a few spots left Sunday, but we have plenty of room throughout next week. We have a chance to get out with light loads on both Monday and Tuesday, and we are a definite go next Wednesday for our "halibut or bust" trip.

We spent the last half hour of our day doing some fun shallow water fishing. We've been fishing for a couple hours now, and we're enjoying some really good fishing. I think we're up to 19 halibut right now, really good grade, most of the fish being 15 to 28 pounds.
